A prayer for all believers, based on Philippians chapter 2
Father God, thank You for working in us to will and to work according to Your good purpose. May we work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, and do everything in our daily living without grumbling and arguing.
May we be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverse generation, among whom we shine like stars in the world by holding firm to the word of life.
Father, we pray that amongst us would flow encouragement in Christ, consolation of love, fellowship with the Spirit, affection and mercy.
May we think like You, having the love of Christ, united in Spirit, intent on one purpose.
May we do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than ourselves.
Help us to look out not only for our own interests, but also for the interests of others.
May we adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus and humble ourselves under Your mighty hand.
Let us sincerely seek the interests of Jesus Christ.
In His name. Amen.
The Choice
We could wile away our witness on good works
And never speak of the water of life
We could waste energy on charity
And never direct to the narrow road
Whose life are we seeking to save?
How beautiful are the feet of those
Who share good news
We are not rescued by a wordless gospel
Beyond the fear, unclean lips can be healed
Let the words of our mouths
The meditation of our hearts
Be pleasing in His sight.
